Enjoy the famous "Jarrett House dining room."
|
|
The Jarrett House has been famous for its home-style, family-style food for over a century. Since the days when raildoad passengers telegraphed their orders ahead from Balsam depot, 12 miles up the tracks, travelers in these mountains have made every effort to reach Dillsboro for a huge, home-cooked meal.

At every meal...
...the platters of country ham and bowls of red-eye gravy kept coming to the tables and caused strong men to weep - because they couldn't eat as much as they wanted.
Frank Jarrett used to say that if a guest ever had to ask a waitress to bring more ham, the meal was on the house! John Parris, "Roaming the Mountains"
